FORMER MARIN FC PLAYERS ARE STANDOUTS IN COLLEGE

-- Fall 2007 Accomplishments

Two former Marin FC players were recently acknowledged by their college conferences:

Ben Denton-Schneider became the first Bowdoin College player to earn Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year honors for the North East Small College Athletic Conference after a breakthrough campaign. The first-year midfielder appeared in 16 games, scoring four goals and three assists, with two of his tallies coming in a 2-0 first-round victory over Wesleyan in the NESCAC Tournament.

Freshman Defender, Wyatt Hayman, Oberlin College, was an honorable mention in the North Coast Athletic Conference after entering all matches this season.

And, three players were on teams that had some notable success.

Jimmy Parrinello, Rochester University, NCAA Sweet Sixteen and University Athletic Association Conference Champion

Marin FC United U18B Wins Las Vegas Coaches Classic

-- Wins In Convincing Fashion - No Goals Allowed!
If you’re going to go to Las Vegas, you might as well gamble. The MarinFC U18 boys competed in the Las Vegas Coaches Classic and their gamble was fielding a keeper who had no previous tournament experience and denying guest players to balance out their small roster of 15. The gamble paid off as they beat Las Vegas Premier, the Nevada State Champions, 3-0 in the Championship match. In fact, the boys returned to Marin County with first place medals by winning all five matches, 11 different players scoring the team’s 18 goals, and competing all weekend without conceding a single goal.
