Sir Alec Ferguson is likely going to receive a 3-match ban from the Football Association for, once again, complaining about a referee. So I thought it time to re-post an earlier article I've judiciously altered.
Come on, Ref!
The whistle blows and the referee signals for the ball to go to the other team. A swarm of players crowd the referee pleading, whining, complaining, and arguing. They spend countless amounts of energy trying to change the call but for some reason (this seems to happen, time and time again)… the call remains the same.
Complaining to the referee never does anyone any good. Never!

From Lars Monroe, Referee Program Coordinator
A reminder that U15/16 and FA players need to have 3 games in by 9/30/12 or they will sit out at least 1 game for each game they’ve yet to complete. Additionally, I will be updating our coaches on their player's progress next week.
Don’t Ruin “The Beautiful Game!”
Don’t let your actions or inactions influence the game.

It wasn’t a violent act on a par with a solid punch to the gut, or a “Kirby Kiss”, delivered with the forehead to the nose or eyebrows of an opponent or an official. No, the push delivered to the shoulder of this assistant referee (FIFA Assistant Referee, Peter Kirkup) by Alan Pardew of Newcastle United was more like a morning wakeup call of the “Did you see that” variety? Nevertheless it was a shove, right there on national and international TV, seen all the way out here on the left coast of the good old U. S. of A.

Reminding all Youth Referees
A few gentle reminders from the desk of Marin FC Referee Program Coordinator, Lars Monroe:
> U15/16 players & players receiving financial aid must have a current 2012 license to participate in the program > Courses will be offered this summer for those who do not have a current license > Players who need to renew their license should do so ASAP as it takes approximately 6 weeks to get a new license > Players need to referee six games, three by 9/30/12 and the remaining three by 12/16/12 > Players who do not referee games on time will sit out league play until they catch upPlayers should try to complete their obligation in August, when there are many local tournaments that allow them to meet the obligation in a single weekend

You're First Game
The fall season is almost here and you’re one of the recently qualified referees in Marin FC.
You’ve played competitive soccer, so you know the game – but – when you step on the field for the first time as a Referee, it’s a whole different ball game.
