Job Description: Reporting directly to the Director of Coaching and indirectly to the Chair and the Board of Directors, the Injury Prevention/Performance Enhancement Specialist is responsible for design and implementation of training programs proven to reduce injury and improve athletic performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement team warm-ups, cool-downs and core strengthening programs
  • Coordinate training sessions with coaches and teams
  • Provide education/information from the most up to date scientific research related to sports performance
  • Consult with coaches and players in regards to conditioning, nutrition, and strength and conditioning 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Sports Science or related field
  • 5 years experience in field of strength and conditioning, ideally working with both girls and boys soccer teams


Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Understanding biomechanics as it relates to the sport of soccer
  • Understanding the injury risks most commonly associated with the sport of soccer
  • Understanding the strength and conditioning needs associated with the sport of soccer
  • Ability to communicate well with coaches and players
