Mission

The mission of Marin FC is to provide the qualified student-athlete with the best chance to reach his/her potential as a soccer player.
  • For players seeking quality training and a high level of competition, a goal of Marin FC is to create top-level teams for the betterment of youth soccer in Marin County and surrounding communities.
  • Marin FC will create a reputation of excellence and high standards that is recognized on a local, state and national level.
  • Marin FC will prepare players for the next level, whether that is Division I or Division III youth soccer (U10-U19), high school junior varsity and varsity teams, state, regional or national Olympic Development Program (“ODP”) teams, college, or professional.
  • Marin FC will provide a positive learning environment that promotes self-discipline, character development, sportsmanship and leadership.
  • Marin FC will provide training, competition and life skill lessons to enhance the players’ life education.
  • Marin FC seeks funds from corporate and individual donors and through other fundraising efforts to support the players in their quest for academic and athletic success.

Associations

Marin FC youth teams are part of the United States Soccer Federation registered in both US Club Soccer (through the Marin Football Club, Inc.)as Marin FC and the US Youth Soccer Association as the Marin Alliance (using the name Marin FC). Marin FC teams participate in leagues in Northern California including Super-Y, CYSA District V, Golden State (GSSL) and NorCal Premiere. Teams also participate in top state, regional and national tournaments throughout the state of California, the western United States and the country, including College showcase tournaments like Nomads (San Diego), President’s Day (Phoenix), Las Vegas College Showcase (Nevada) and Score at the Shore (North Carolina).

The Marin Alliance

Marin FC is the name used by the Marin Alliance for its teams.

In 2004, four Marin County CYSA (USYSA) soccer leagues agreed to join together to support the development of the competitive “older” soccer player. In 2005, a fifth league agreed to informally join the Alliance and will look to formalize their relationship in 2006.

  • Tiburon Peninsula Youth Soccer League (2004)
  • West Marin Youth Soccer League (2004)
For the 2006-2007 soccer season, the leagues have agreed to allow Marin FC to form competitive Division I teams for boys and girls ages U14-U17. In turn, they further agreed to field no Class 1 teams for these age groups. Any older teams (U18 and above) from these leagues may petition to participate in the Marin FC.

Directors of Coaching

Directors of Coaching are hired by the Marin Alliance Board to lead the development of curriculum, hire and evaluate coaches, select players and advocate for the club.

Marin Alliance Executive Board

The Marin Alliance Board is selected from the participating leagues. Central Marin and Mill Valley each have two representatives and West Marin and Tiburon each have one. The Chair is elected from the six members of the Board.
